This Man-made ice features on real rock is in Winona, MN! Made Thanks to the Recreation Alliance of Winona. It is a city owned park and through the work of volunteers. This Park has a estimated 90-100 ice and mixed routes(As of Nov of 2023) making this possibly the second largest ice park in the United States behind Ouray, Co. some of those routes go up to 110ft

There is an annual Winona Ice Festival which offers instructional clinics, meet ups, equipment demos and evening activities/events around town all weekend! Look at the big river climbing guides website and the the facebook page for information on it.

If anyone is in need of gear for ice climbing or just rock climbing you can rent some at Winona State University's Outdoor Education and Recreation Center WSU website

For updates on the ice Conditions or when they are farming, I would Suggest looking at ether their Facebook or Instagram               Check the city website for any updates, https://www.cityofwinona.com/237/Ice-Park

Please complete the ice park user survey each time you visit the park to allow us to make improvements and understand our user demographics. The survey can be found here, https://bit.ly/3rzGDQl

Getting There Suggest change

Same parking location as for the Sugarloaf (E.Lake Blvd in front of Edina reality or the new parking lot that is south of Edina reality.) Hike the trail to the saddle where there is a short switchback. From here follow the trail which leads to the SW (away from the Sugarloaf) until you come to a turn to the right up the hill. Once at the top of this incline you are at the base of the old quarry. If setting up a TR head up and left following the trail to the top of the bluff or if leading routes stay right following the trail to the ice park.
