Description
Pedra da Divisa is a great sport climbing area near Sao Bento. The name comes from the fact that the crag sits on the border (divisa) between the states of Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais.
There are 6 areas in total, listed from climber's left to right: Falesias, Tetos, Pilar Central, Comunista, Falesias de Cima, and Corujas. Tetos/Pilar Central, Comunista, and Corujas are the most popular crags here. The style of climbing is varied between the crags and contains slab, vert, and slightly overhanging. The holds are generally edges and crimps.
One of the most visually striking and famous routes in the Sao Paulo / Sul de Minas area is located here - Juizo Final in the Corujas sector.

Getting There
Coming from the south (from Sao Paulo / Taubate), head towards Sao Bento. Set your odometer when you arrive at the roundabout that marks the entrance to Sao Bento. Drive 1.6 km from here and turn left. Drive on this road for about 6.9 km and the road will turn to the dirt. Drive up several steep hills for another 1.7 km until you reach an intersection where you will turn right. Drive past the house on the right hand side of the road and continue for about another 0.1 km where you will park on the right side of the road.
Walk back on the road the way you came. Directly across from the house there will be a gate that leads uphill. Start up the hill for a short distance and there will be a gate on the left. This trail leads to all sectors except for Corujas. The trail for Corujas continues up the road and eventually turns into a trail which leads up and right to the crag.
