Getting weather forecast...
This area was the first area developed at el cañon. It is sunny almost all day but during winter and autumn it is perfect for climbing. The rock is solid and chances of a rockfall are slim. The rock has a huge graffiti that affect three of the main routes making the start very tricky. Routes are short never more than ten meters and usually use only six pieces of protection. The wall is kind of a slab at the beginning and then becomes a normal 90-degree wall. It is possible to go around the wall and set a Top-rope, but leading the route is more common. Belaying is not a hazard and it is super close making this zone one of the favorites for many climbers.
When getting to el cañon you will likely want to park at the environmental center that is managed by the government. From there you can arrive at this zone in no more than 10 minutes. Go down the paved road and follow the trail straight ahead. at your right, you will see some nice boulders and soon you will have a wall with a graffiti of a snake to your right. There is a map on the environmental center that you can look to get a better idea of where you are going.
