Description

La Tarella is a sport climbing sector at Col de Bavella. Around a dozen routes heavily weighted in the easy to moderate range. Routes range from 3c to a lone 5a.

Pleasant hiking through pine forests on good trails (a rarity!) make this area a fun, casual visit.

Good crag to start on for an initiation into climbing at the Col.

Getting There

Park at the col and take the main trail north. Exit the forest and pass a rocky buttress on your right. The next large face of rock is, left to right, Filetta – Margherita – La Tarella.

Approach time around 10 to 15 minutes.

L'auberge du Col is a "rustic" hotel/bar/restaurant just downhill (east) from the col and can be a popular hang for climbers and hikers of the GR20.
