Description

These are fun, new climbing areas with only a few established lines. There is lots of potential route development. They are right across the wash from the Urban Alpine Crag.

Getting There

From C-470 and Wadsworth, go south on Wadsworth, then take a right on to Deer Creek Canyon Drive. Go 3-ish miles up the windy Deer Creek Canyon Road keeping an eye out for the Canyon's namesake. Look for the Urban Alpine Crag and just to the right of that is Birds and Bees. Take the trail to Urban Alpine, then find the path of least resistance over to the crag. There is no good trail yet. Try not to completely destroy vegetation.

Decent climbing from the routes currently submitted on this page but nothing amazing, seems like there is some good potential for future routes in this area. Hope it starts to see more development this fall. It's still a nice close crag to go to if you want a nice quiet day with nobody else around but there are many other front range crags that offer better climbing. The acoustics are great for listening to the conversations of the bikers doing to Deer Creek Hill Climb, haha. Aug 8, 2018
