Vilanova de Prades

International > Europe > Spain > Catalonia

Description

A long line of cliffs above the village of Vilanova de Prades. Mostly South- and South-East-facing, and very warm from early in the morning. Perfect for winter climbing, and a good place to go when Margalef and Siurana are trapped in a cloud inversion.

Getting There

From a roundabout at the eastern side of the village, follow the partially paved track (sign-posted Cami a la Serra Llena) uphill towards the cliff. First parking spot is a pullout on the left about 800m from the roundabout. 2nd pullout is ~300m farther. Most climbing areas can be accessed from either of these two pullouts. But following the road past the 2nd pullout will take you to the top of the cliff, and a 3rd pullout, approximately 2.6km from the roundabout, with a yellow mark painted on a pine tree. Sectors La Cogulla and El Camping are closer to the top access from P3.
