Description

Canyonland has a lot of highball tall boulders. Overhang and crag. You'll have to hike up hill further than other area. Then you'll find yourself in the narrow canyon surrounded by boulders. As in Dec 2017, the trail was cut pretty well to access the boulder field, but not many established routes since this area is further from the start of loop road.

Getting There

Go down the hill along the red dirt loop road. (Read about the loop road in Water Park Back section). It's labeled 'J' in the area map. You will see the big beautiful 'King Kong'boulder just side of the road (see photo). Trai start just behind that boulder. Hike into a dwarf bamboo trail... boulders are on your left. They are very tall and hard to miss.
