Description
There are at least 3 crags here: Toby Crag, LogJam Crag (submitted as Carly Crag), and Grindstone Crag and additional boulders.
Per Tyson Atwell: the Hillside Drive Area contains at least 4 distinct sandstone crags of excellent quality: Hillside Bouldering, Toby Crag, Carly Crag, and the Hunting Camp Area. Many additional bouldering areas and cliffs can be found dispersed throughout the forest on both sides of Hillside Drive, Grindstone Road, and beyond.
Getting There
10.5 miles south of Rico, Colorado take a left at Hillside Drive, and continue 7.5 miles up the road. Park on the right hand side in a nice-sized pullout. The first set of boulders will be in the forest to the left, on the uphill side just a couple hundred of feet off the road. This is Hillside East. To reach Hillside West, continue up the road another 5.2 miles. Take a right when the road comes to a Y, continue on another 1.7 miles, and pull off right into a hunting camp to park. From here, the boulders are located 0.65 miles downhill. The descent is very steep and can be treacherous, be careful as the boulders are below a crag. The safest approach is staying right of the crag.
Per Wendy Henderson: it is on Hillside Dr. in San Juan National Forest between Dolores and Rico Colorado. Hillside National Forest is incorrect.
