Access Issue: Antarctic Treaty Permission Required Details

The Antarctic Treaty requires that all activities obtain permission ahead of time. The companies you would use to get to the continent will know the specifics of what needs to be done for your particular expedition.

Description

McMurdo Station is the largest of the United States research stations in Antarctica. It is located on an island in the Ross Sea and typically accessed via flights from New Zealand. The station may only be visited by USAP parties (scientists, staff and contractors).

Located in the gymnasium at McMurdo Station, is a small climbing wall that affords an opportunity for some exercise.
