Description

Crash of the Titans is a fun cave area with a few moderate routes on either side of the cave. The cave itself has a number of wild, long tufas and tufa fins. Don't miss the very unique Ex Utero route--a route that climbs up the back of the cave and up into a large, body-length hole at the top of the cave to reach the anchors. There's even a logbook in the hole to sign when you reach the anchors.

Rain: The routes on the left side stay pretty dry in rain although the finish of the routes will have some wet holds. The routes on the right side of the cave are more vertical and also will have some wet streaks after a long rain.

Shade: Not much. The routes right of the cave and in the cave will have some shade early but otherwise this protected alcove bakes in the sun.

Getting There

The parking is the same parking as for Twin Caves. Drive out of Leonidio towards the village of Vaskina up the steep, switchbacks until the last major switchback turn to the right. Park here. The parking is signed for Twin Caves. Park judiciously as this is the parking for Twin Caves and for Crash of the Titans. From the parking walk up the paved road for about 100 feet to a cairned trail on the left. You can see the cave of Crash of the Titans from here. Hike up the steep, sometimes loose, trail directly to the sector. Approach time is about 10 minutes.
