Description
Two huge caves right next to area make for one of the areas harder crags. Even the 6's for warm-ups are tricky and stout. The caves feature many tufas and stalactites up high but often much of the climbing below those features is bouldery on smaller incuts with the occasional small feature thrown in to keep things interesting. The caves face east and get sun until around noon. It sure seems there's quite a bit more route development to be had in the caves both in new lines and extensions to the existing lines.
Getting There
From the public parking lot in Leonidio, drive the main road west out of town towards the village of Kosmas for about ten minutes to a big hairpin turn over a stone bridge. Park on the left side of the road before the stone bridge in a handful of small dirt pullouts. From the parking spots, hike towards the stone bridge hairpin and take the trail signed for "Hada" up the hillside. The trail will go up the hillside, contour above the canyon for about 12 minutes and then drop back down into the canyon. Once in the canyon hike for a couple minutes in the canyon bottom until just below the caves. Scramble up fixed lines and staples to access the caves.
