Sector Mars Rock Climbing

From the main road through town, drive to the cemetery following signs that read “Sector Mars”. Once you reach the cemetery/church park near it. The guidebook states you can drive further on the dirt road through the olive groves to parking at the end of the dirt road but doesn’t recommend it. That said, there are six to eight good-looking parking spots at the end of the dirt road and many people drive the dirt road to the higher parking. If you do this, please park judiciously and do not block the road or other cars. 

From the cemetery parking, hike the dirt road and stay on the obvious road. At the end of the road (and parking if you drove the dirt road) go left onto a well-constructed trail (indicated by signs mentioning the different crags) and follow it as it switchbacks up the hillside. As you hike up, you’ll pass Sector Namaste, a small area on good, vertical rock on the left side of the trail about 10 minutes from the olive grove parking. Continue up and over the ridge and traverse the hillside for another 10-15 minutes up to Mars. There are two sections with fixed ropes through steeper steps en route to the crag.
