Description

It is the prominent feature on the southernmost ridge as seen from Dry Creek rd. It looks like a great lizard basking in the sun!

Getting There

Just 30 min from the Dry Creek parking area: head back south on the road a minute or so til you see the trail (signposted) heading off to the left for Lizard Head. Follow this a bout 1/4mi til a more direct trail heads up left (this is shortly after an old jeep trail heads up-skip that!) a few minutes later another spur heads up left past an old Bristlecone looking gnarled juniper- if you miss this you will start heading down slightly toward the cove. Continue up this trail ( goes for a few miles to the summit of Thunder Mtn) This trail is pretty easy to follow- no false turns- up slick rock and zigzagging thru juniper scrub to the north face of the Lizardhead.
