DescriptionThe Valleys: East of Sugarloaf, West of BSP
This corridor of Maine begins leaving the Bigelow Preserve to the West and occupying the space of the valleys of the Moose River and The Kennebec River, abutting the highlands around Baxter State Park in the east. Travelling south to the Capitol Region and north to the border of Quebec, this part of Maine contains some of the least explored rock of anywhere in the state.
The amazing Mt. Kineo resides here on Moosehead lake, with a history that is foggy with time. Ancient relics of previous climbers can be found on it, but their stories are lost, at least for now. Other remote rocks lurk in these woods as well.
