Description
Situated above the Portino da Arrabida beach, Fenda is a long fissure of overhung, bomber orange limestone replete with pockets and tufas reminiscent of Catalonia's famous crags. The crag shines in its abundance and quality of routes in the 7th grade (11d to 13a), though excellent routes in the 6's and 8's do exist, particularly the famous UHU (8a) and Rampa dos Crocodilos (8a).
Getting There
Park at one of the pulloffs on the road above the Portinho da Arrabida beach (near the crag's gps pin). There will be a well-traveled path heading steeply down from the easternmost of the main parking spots, which leads to the farthest east of Fenda's crags. Following the trail at the base of this cliff eventually winds around to the main sector, Amarelas, and then to the other western sectors. There is also an approach from the beach itself, accessed by parking at the restaurant lot (difficult to find a spot) and then heading uphill off the road alongside the beach.
