The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that: 1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor. 2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.
This formation is an extension of the Gold Dust Gulch located south of Poodle Rock. It can be recognized by multiple thin vertical dikes that run from top to bottom. The base of the formation is about 100' off the floor of the desert, about 50 yards before the stone dam.
Getting There
From the parking area follow the main trail to the descent into the main wash. Continue South past the Gold Nuggets and Poodle Rock, following the path of least resistence through the wash. About 250 yards past Poodle Rock turn left, and work your way to the base of the routes. If you get to the dam, you've gone too far.
