Description [Suggest Change]
The Merisor section at Pietrele lui Solomon is a small section of limestone with a handful of climbs facing southeast near the hairpin turn. The cliff has a good view of the Brana section of the canyon but is much shorter at 20 meters (66 feet). This section is not for beginners but does have two lines which are easier at 5.10a and 5.10c. At the time of writing the area is mixed with new and old sharp home-made bolts. One could spend most of the day tackling the lines on this little wall which sits half in sun, and half in shade. Most of the old strolling picnic people don't walk by this cliff so its a little better for privacy than the Cariera section.
Getting There [Suggest Change]
Like all of the sections in this climbing area it is a short walk. Go to the main open center of the Solomon Rocks where there is a small stage. Walk to the road which is at the base of the Brana section (has two "caves" carved into the base of the cliff). Go up the road. You'll see the rock face at the end of the first major hair pin turn, it is small and half obscured by tall trees on the right side. The two hard lines of Pizda Bunicii (grandmas p_ssy) and Stairway to Hell are directly in the morning sun and the first lines you see.
