Description Suggest change

A large area with a wide range of difficulties, which makes it fairly popular. Here you'll find white (children), yellow, orange, blue, light blue and red circuits, as well as many unmarked problems. The main area is very sandy, open and has good landings, but as you climb up the hill it turns into a jumble with sometimes poor landings.

Steps have been made out of wood to try to channel the flow of climbers and mitigate erosion, which is pretty bad here. Also the top of the hill was devastated by a wildfire in 2013, so the problems up there dry well as they sit on a (now) exposed ridge. The scene is rather bleak though. This is where you'll find the classic L'étrave (7B+), put up by Patrick Edlinger.

Getting There Suggest change

From Achères-la-Forêt or Le Vaudoué, follow D63 until you see a sign marked "Rocher Cailleau". Park in the large carpark and walk north for 1mn.
