Description

With incredible views of Buttermilk, Red Butte, and the Roaring Fork, it is possible to toprope all climbs on this face of Gold Butte using well-placed anchors along the trail that leads over the top.

Getting There

See the Gold Butte main area page for directions on how to get here.

If approaching from the Rio Grande, this face will be visible from the trail below and hard to miss. When approaching from Sunnyside Trail, you can come around the East face with some easy scrambling on the southern tip, or use the well-maintained trail that leads up over the top of the crag to come in from the other side.
