Description

If you have never been to Desolation Wilderness, it should definitely be on your list of places to go. High alpine lakes and seemingly endless peaks abound in this extremely popular wilderness area. Desolation is one of the most trafficked wilderness areas in the U.S, however, the traffic is rarely for climbers.

Getting There

Desolation Wilderness has many points of ingress. Most Notable Trailheads:

Rocky Canyon Trailhead (HWY 50)
Horestail Falls 3rd class (HWY 50)
