Main Boulders

California > Lake Tahoe > Highway 50 Corr… > Folsom > Folsom Lake SRA > Beeks Bight

Description

Beeks Bight's main boulders. Hosts a couple problems on the lowest end of the V scale. Boulder has unfortunately sprouted bolts on top which makes this a ridiculous 12ft toprope. Not even a highball for Boulder problems.

Getting There

Just after the parking lot its the tallest boulder with the crack on the north facing side, small graffiti on the top :/

Close up/detailed view of the finger crack on the main boulder - note that the fall zone is pretty sketchy, despite my failure to capture it.

[Hide Comment] Seriously, what’s with those new bolts??? You can easily sling the top if you are desperate to TR the easy boulder problems. Very unnecessary and should be removed IMO. Dec 11, 2021

[Hide Comment] 100% agree. All the recent bolting on these small boulders should be removed. Sad to see it happened, pretty bad form. Dec 11, 2021

[Hide Comment] Oh man, just wait until you see some of the other "routes" this guy has put up. See: Folsom Lake SRA > Dotons Point. Absolutely absurd. Dec 12, 2021

[Hide Comment] That is ridiculous. Has anyone been in contact with this guy? Potentially well intentioned, but not a good look for the climbing community at all. I've been meaning to learn how to remove wedge anchors, this seems like a good place to get some practice... Dec 13, 2021
[Hide Comment] This is very very poor form. I’m all for top rope access for easy climbs, but this is another level. Tiny boulders should never have bolted anchors. Just wait till you you have to start dealing with land managers shutting stuff down!! It’s a nightmare. These should be removed before land managers happen across this and start shutting down local climbing. Dec 13, 2021
