Description

This area has Far Left, Left Wing, Rooster Tail, Chicken Rock, Going Away Party, and The Egg.

There is camping here. The approaches are short. The rock is good.

Getting There

From Lake George, go west on US 24. Between MM 259 & 258, go north on Park County Rd. 31 for 4.8 miles, go west (left) on Forest Service Rd. 44 (La Salle Pass), and go a mile to an intersection. You can see the massif of Valley of The Chickens. Take the middle fork and drive 0.8 miles.

Per Evan C: take US 24 several miles past Lake George, take a right onto FS 31. Continue for several more miles down the dirt road until you see a sign for La Salle Pass Road and an intersection. Take a left at the intersection onto FS 46, and continue down this for a bit. The road gets a bit bumpy here, but my Civic didn't have any issues. Look for another intersection, and take a right and then an immediate left onto FS 229. Take the next right when the road forks, and you should see the rock at this point so just go towards it. There are several parking options.
