Choss Cave

Texas > Austin Area > Barton Creek Greenbelt

Description

A large cave that's over 10 feet high. Tons of development to be had. Only a handful of problems have been documented and established.

Getting There

Short 5 minute hike from the Gus Fruh residential access trail. Take the switchback down and turn right. Hike for a few minutes or so, and the cave will be on your right.

Deep cave with some potential. It’s called Choss Cave for a reason.

Full view of the cave. The picture doesn't really do it justice though, it's actually quite tall.

TALL cave. Definitely bring more pads if necessary. Rock is solid but still be cautious. Only three official problems made, so definitely room for more.
