Getting weather forecast...
DescriptionThis horseshoe-shaped area offers a good variety of climbing from 5.4 through 5.11. However, the landowner has had some issues with climbers and has acted a little rashly, hammering the first bolt of many of the routes and making this bolt unuseable. That's a shame, because the climbing is actually quite good and it would seem that the area could support possibly even twice the number of routes which are currently here. For most existing routes, you should bring some slings and stoppers or, even better, tricams.
The tree cover and northern aspect (although parts also face East and West) make this crag ideal for warm days. Also, the area is quite family-friendly. The approach is easy and stroller accessible, though you can't take it all the way up to the rock.
Park respectfully and be on your best behavior if you choose to climb here to help prevent future access issues. Under no circumstances should you drive down the road to the crag!
Getting ThereDrive to Engelhardsberg, which is somewhat near Gößweinstein and Doos, if you know where that is. Park in Engelhardsberg, potentially up the street from the bus stop. From the bus stop, head up the main road towards the North. After about 150m a road to the left (the hiking trail with the green stripe is on the post at the corner with a sign indicating "Klettergebiet Kammer") leads you to the crag in 800m. Just keep going straight and it'll take you straight there.
