Description

This area is located only a few meters away from the Mendoza River. It was developed primarily by Mariana Gallego and Fideo Molina. It's an ideal crag for those getting started in sport climbing and for those more advanced climbers looking for a warm place to climb during cold days.

A set of quickdraws and a 50 meter rope is all you need to climb here. The use of helmet is almost mandatory, for the belayer at least, since the rock type is conglomerate and even though the routes see frequent traffic, the rock does break on occasion. It's also a good idea to make sure that the nuts in the bolt hangers are properly tightened, since they tend to loosen up due to the rock type and drastic changes in temperature.

Getting There

The area is easily accessed from the International Route (No. 7) to Chile. If you're coming from the city of Mendoza towards Uspallata, the area is found only 500 meters before the RĂos Andinos Rafting company. It is possible to park the car pretty close to the crag or next to the highway at a big pullout.
