DescriptionTraifelberg sits right across from the beautiful fairy tale castle, Schloss Lichtenstein which although about the same size as the country, is no relation. It consists of a series of several crags and has almost only moderate to hard routes. You can count the easy ones on one hand.
Getting ThereDrive to the village of Lichtenstein. Be sure not to choose the castle because you'll end up on the other side of the town which is separated by a long ridge meaning a circuitious drive around to get to town and Traifelberg.
South of town is a tiny village/part of Lichtenstein called Honnau. Head to it and take the street "Honauersteige" uphill and then turn left into "Traifelbergstrasse." Stay to the right after about 200 meters or so and eventually park somewhere in the area because you wont be allowed to drive further.
Take the hiking path to Lochenstein which is the first of the crags.
