Description
Cragging and bouldering in a beautiful sub-alpine setting. The roped climbing is located on a single wall near the border of Montana and Idaho and hosts some great sport climbing on quality gneiss. Grades range from 5.10-5.12-.The bouldering is scattered throughout the sub-alpine area around the MT-ID border. The rock is similar to that of the weathered granite found near Lolo pass but a little less razor sharp. Grades range of V0-V9.

Getting There
From Missoula get on 93 toward the Bitterroot. Once in Lolo, take a right turn onto HWY 12 toward Lolo Pass. About 10 miles up HWY 12 keep a lookout for a Forest Service sign that says Elk Meadows Rd. Take a left onto Elk Meadows Rd. and continue up this main road for several miles. There is a major split in the road early on, just stay right and head up switch backs. Once you have climbed up the switch backs and the road begins to level out you have nearly made it. Descriptions of sub areas of Elk Meadows will begin from here.
