Chimney Hollow Falls (Ice)

Pennsylvania > Central PA

Description

Also known as Owassee Slide Run, this area is one of many good Pine Creek ice climbing areas. Three or four routes of varying difficulty are present. Good ice can be found here when areas further South have melted, thanks to its location in a shaded hollow.

Getting There

Pull off of Owassee Rd. at the bridge where Owassee Slide Run meets with Pine Creek. Hike upstream for ~10 minutes and you'll find yourself at the base of the falls. There is a short WI2 ice step ~8 feet tall just before the main falls, which can easily be walked around.
