Access Issue: Road and Raptor Closures Details

Per Ross Andrea: Ramparts Range Road is closed December 1.

March 1st-July 31st: Devil's Head Rock, Sin City, & Recovery Wall are closed for raptor protection. The vast majority of the other crags are unaffected by the closure. Please visit:

Description

Back To The Future Slab is a new low angle slab somewhat behind The Headstone. The wall faces east, so it gets morning and midday sun but is surrounded by tall trees, so the base stays pretty shady. You probably won't see anyone in this area, since it's so new and away from most other areas. The rock is granite slab.

Getting There

Start on the main fire tower trailhead. Take the Zinn Overlook trail to the left. After you go through an area on the trail with boulders on either side of you, in about 100 feet after the somewhat narrow slot, take a faint left that goes up and over the ridge. Follow a cairned trail south and east into the valley behind The Headstone. This area is hard to find if you are not familiar with Devil's Head areas, so looking on the Google map will help a lot.
