Description
Death Valley is extremely arid and hot at low elevations. This park draws many visitors from around the world and has amazing landscapes and features to explore. There seems to be very little established climbing in this park, understandably so, due to the poor rock quality. The remote location of the park, extreme climate and amount of choss are discouraging. Technical descents of remote canyons is popular, however, some climbing is possible. This forum post has some info
( mountainproject.com/forum/t… ), and hopefully some adventurous members of the climbing community will establish routes in this harsh environment at some point.
