Description

Beautiful climbing area with something for everyone just north of Hiroshima. The Three Peaks hike is short, sweet, steep, and gorgeous with 4th class scrambles protected by chains to each of the three peaks. The climbing can be found off the main trails. The first climbing area is about 500m up trail A or B from the parking area.

The campground administration office sells a climbing guidebook with beta descriptions and gear advice. I am currently working on an English translation (if you own the publishing rights, please PM).

For climbing, expect to find 5.0 up to a named 5.13a with everything from slab, to face, to overhanging crack. Sport, trad, single pitch, multi pitch, whatever you fancy, it can all be found here at Mikuradake.

There is a campground at the base of the mountain with cooking areas and running water.

Getting There

Under Construction.
From Iwakuni, take Route 2 north to Otake. From Otake, take the 186 north into the mountains. Take the exit to Route 289 and follow signs to the Mikuradake park and parking area.
