Firing Pin

Utah > S Central Utah > Grand Staircase > Cannonville Area

Description

This is a shapely tower with few weaknesses. Apparently in the Entrada Formation, it is sufficiently cemented together to take gear well and sink good bolts. It also is soft enough to inspire cowboy-glyphs dating back to at least 1932.

Getting There

This tower is invisible from Kodachrome Road. It is behind Gun-Sight Butte. The area is a conglomerate of land ownership, You can park on the road and walk into the area crossing many lines. At this point in time this is not a problem. There is a circuitous combination of roads to get very close, but requires an insider's knowledge. Contact me for more detailed information.
