DescriptionThis may be the best place to camp in the whole park. Situated between the small bell and the elephant, this site is walking distance to some of the best climbing in the park.
The campsite is in the sun for most of the day but falls into shade in the late afternoon. While not entirely secluded (it is right beside a paved tourist trail) other people seldom come here and the area has a relatively private feel despite the fact that it is just off the road. Tourists and local herders do pass by occasionally.
The boulders in this area are high quality alpine granite. There could be as many as 50 problems within 5 minutes walk of the campsite. Exploring, scrubbing, and climbing them make for a fun rest day.
Getting ThereTake the park's transportation (golf carts/tourist buses) inside the park until you reach the small bell. Just past the small bell you will see public toilets on your left. About 30 meters before the public toilets there is a small trail leading up the hill. This area has possibly the most flat spaces for camping here at KKTH and is right beside toilet facilities and the river (which can be drunk from).
Boulders are scattered around the site.
