Vortex Tower

Arizona > Southern Arizona > Cochise Stronghold > E Stronghold

Description

Free standing formation between WML and Rockfellow group. The vortex offers an awesome summit with great views of the stronghold. From the info I gathered, Fred Beckey climbed this many years back and left some historical hardware on the tower.

Getting There

Go towards Rockfellow group or Whats my line dome. It is in the middle of the two.

[Hide Comment] Anyone take a close look at that steep head wall on the N side of the tower? Looks featured from the ground but hard to tell if is possible from afar. Shaded all day so could be a fun little project as it starts to warm up. Mar 25, 2019

[Hide Comment] Few aid lines and some good looking cracks all around this formation. Not sure if all routes included in guides.
