DescriptionSEASONS: Any other time besides summer is probably OK, except the routes (hiking or otherwise) are long and arduous and carrying so much water would make the day harder.
The rock of Pincushion is all limestone. The view and position is breathtaking. While it's only 7000 feet, the approach, climb, and descent will have you feeling the mountain is a bit more alpine than usual.
Construction Area technically blocks the area from entry from the East. Details
You could access this area by going around road barriers, but the legality of this is questionable. The road in begins reasonably, then high clearance is required, then serious 4x4 required to get into the park boundary.
