Description

Jabba the Hutt is a large boulder in the Cunningham Falls area of Catoctin Mountain Park. Perched on a protruding ledge and marked by a distinct diamond-shaped face (which in turn bears a resemblance the infamous science fiction villain), this boulder makes a statement as the gatekeeper to the rest of the bouldering area.

No beta is currently available for this boulder.

Getting There

To find Jabba the Hutt, find the junction of the Hog Rock Nature Trail and the Falls Nature Trail (there is a sign). Follow the rail uphill towards Hog Rock for approximately 200' (60 m). Turn off the trail left when you reach a large slab of rock in the trail's center (just before the steep uphill section) and bushwhack 200' (60 m) to the first small outcrop (Gateway Fin). The boulder is approximately 160 feet (50 m) northeast from Gateway Fin and can be seen through the woods north of this first outcrop.
