Chilly Creek

Oklahoma > SE Oklahoma > Lake Atoka

Description

Great bouldering area with 25' to 30' limestone walls, some of the harder problems can be top roped or done as lead routes.

Getting There

From Hwy43 & 69 go west to the first bridge. You will see overgrown limestone walls extending north. Follow the creek and wall north until the bases of the walls begin to become free of brush. Best routs are past when the wall takes a turn to the west.

[Hide Comment] Just recently posted, those photos are nearly thirty years old. kovacs put Atoka and Limestone gap on a couple of years ago. I though I would add the beta from the wayback to his areas and show this place. My family is from Coalgate so we would go down and stay at my Grandma's house and climb and fish. I haven't been there in years so I can't speak to vegetation etc. If the lake was up we would climb here, at the gap and the quarry. If the lake was down we would spend hours over there. We had a lot of fun. Texas climbers see the obvious areas from 69 and stop from time to time. This area is a little hidden gem. If I can find my old topos I'll add more routes to this page and the routes at the quarry. JB Nov 9, 2016
