Getting weather forecast...
The Nilgiri Hills (or just the Nilgiris, meaning Blue Mountains) are a subrange of the Western Ghats, and run roughly along the borders separating Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. The high peaks in the Nilgiris are around 8000+ feet in elevation, and the rock is mostly granite. There is very little developed climbing in this area, and potential for plenty of tall routes among the high peaks and shorter cragging around the foothills.
There are several towns and hill stations in the area that are easily accessed by road from any of the cities in South India. The region is a popular getaway from the blazing heat during the warm months, though most of the tourist population finds itself in a small number of destinations.
