Description Suggest change

The Wolf's Head Pillar is located at the Northwest corner of Wolf Rock. Sitting about 30' high, it vaguely resembles a sitting wolf when viewed from the North end of the outcropping. Although it is surrounded by boulders, it is the stateliest single rock in the area.

The Wolf's Head Pillar features some of the harder routes at Wolf Rock. It is possible to lead some of the routes, but an exposed 4th class scramble is an almost easier option to gain the top.

There are plenty of options for setting top-anchors for all routes in Wolf's Head (e.g. BD #0.5/ #1/ #2/ #3 or/and a quad-length sling could be used).

Getting There Suggest change

Follow the access trail either from the central road parking (shorter) or the Visitor Center. The Wolf's Head Pillar is the most obvious feature at the North end of Wolf Rock.
