Description

The Blue Ridge Summit Overlook is a point of interest on the hiking trails of Catoctin Mountain National Park. The overlook features impressive views to the North and West, but also contains numerous boulders with varying styles of rock.

Getting There

From the visitors center, travel North on the Park Central Road to the fourth parking area (it will be on the right). There is a sign for the Hog Rock Nature Trail directly across the road, restrooms, and several picnic tables adjacent to the large parking lot. A sign has trail mileages to Thurmont Vista (1.5 m), Wolf Rock (2.5 m), and Chimney Rock (2.9 m).

The Blue Ridge Summit Overlook is .3 miles up moderately steep terrain. A sign marks the spot, but the rocks announce themselves.
