Wall of Voodoo

Nevada > Southern Nevada > Keyhole Canyon > Above the First Water…

Description

A 60' clean east facing cliff that tops out on a short knife-edge section of the ridge that separates the Death Couloir from the upper canyon.

Getting There

Hike upwash from just above the First Waterfall. The wash quickly makes a hard bend to the south, Wall of Voodoo is the a couple hundred feet up from this bend and is the first cliff on the right above the First Waterfall. A short steep scramble out of the wash takes you to the base. Descend the ridge towards the First Waterfall to get back to the base or head southwest to the top of the Death Couloir to descend back to the lower canyon.

[Hide Comment] All new climbers at Keyhole are taught to do climbs in the same, or better style, than the first ascent. Anyone can lower the bar, but it’s far more admirable to raise the bar.

Please be respectful of the traditional climbing at Keyhole, first instilled by the Stone Masters, and help maintain the longevity and traditional flavor of the area, i.e.

- Never add bolts to established climbs- this includes belays/rappel stations.
- On new routes use gear whenever possible, bolts are always a last resort.
- Lead new climbs ground up, even if top roped or cleaned on rappel first. Jan 12, 2018
