Dartmoor... Renowned for its desolate moors, ancient stones and excellent granite tors; notorious for its foul weather and penchant for getting people lost. The crisp granite to be found here provides a welcome alternative to the ubiquitous limestone in the South West. Haytor is the most popular of these tors (with climbers and tourists alike) and is worth a weekend or more.
