Access Issue: Private Property; Battress Wall is currently closed to climbers
Details
Currently, as of 2017, the Battress Wall, located along Providence North, is not open to climbers. The previous land developer, which was aware of climbers and provided a verbalized ok to climbing access, pasted away. The current developer and owner does not currently want climbers accessing the cliff line. Providence Main Wall and Providence South Wall is open to climbers accessing the cliff line along the property line and the owner is aware of climbers. Please respect private property and stay along the property line and cliffs.
Description
This southwest facing rock exposure, located northwest of the Providence Access parking lot, is traditionally known for the Battress Crack and is now known as the Battress Area, located within Providence North. Shad trees provide afternoon shelter but climbing in the morning will help you avoid the summer heat. Remember, this crag, like most of the other cliffs along the Katy Trail, is on private property.
Climbing is currently not allowed, but could change with each individual lot sold. Please be respectful of the current owners wishes.

Getting There
From the Providence Access parking lot head North on the Katy Trail for .75 miles. Shortly after an orange sign comes into view, follow a short, uphill path to access the base of the bluff from its southern end. Accessing the bluff from here should help to prevent the erosion problems common to these areas. Walk along the base of the bluff for a few hundred yards before coming to the Battress Wall.
