Yosemite National Park has yearly closures for Peregrine Falcon Protection March 1- July 15. Always check the NPS website at nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/… for the most current details and park alerts, and to learn more about the peregrine falcon, and how closures help it survive. This page also shares closures and warnings due to current fires, smoke, etc.
Description
An isolated summit adjacent to the Young Lakes. Slabby and non-technical up to the final few hundred feet, where the climbing turns to a few pitches of fifth class on most aspects. Granite, of poor to moderate quality on the East Face, but seems better on the west and north facing slopes.
There is a second class route up the Southwest Slope (can be reached from the saddle east of the summit if coming from Young Lakes). This is probably the ideal descent route - I made the mistake of rapping down the northwest face and do not recommend this.
