Grebes Nest

International > N America > Canada > Newfoundland &… > Newfoundland > Avalon Peninsula > Bell Island (ice)

Description

The Grebes Nest is located on the back (north west portion) of the island. To access these climbs there is a rough path that takes you down to the coast. To your right will be the various exits of the abandoned mine shafts that pop out along the cliffs. You will want to head towards your left to get to the climbs (and to get the fu#k away from mine ghosts). The first climb you reach is adjacent to another shaft (no ghosts in this one) dug through the rock. To access the other climbs you must travel through this shaft as it will pop you out on a different beach with more ice climbs.

Getting There

Drive to the back of the island and then make your way on foot to the beach.
