Details
Carefully approach along the sandy gravel foot path where possible. Otherwise, rubber boots or other similar footwear may be required to access specific areas.
Description
This area is a very large erratic boulder field located along the Burin Peninsula highway. There are hundreds if not thousands of boulders stretching along the barren as far as the eye can see. Mostly untouched, unclimbed and unnamed. Go forth and make notes! (Much cleaning required!)
Getting There
Headed west from St. John's on the TCH, continue to the turn off to Marystown (just past Goobies Irving) on your left. Travel for aprx 52km until you reach the Sandy Harbour view point on your right, just after the "Feeling Erratic?" tourism sign. Park here and follow the gravel path towards the barrens.
