Description

A short approach and its proximity (less than an hour from both Canmore and Calgary, 25 minute approach) and density of hard routes used to make the Bayon the premiere spot for hard climbing in the the Bow Valley. With the discovery of Acephale, this small area has mostly been forgotten but sees some traffic from those willing to try new things.

Great rock but short, bouldery routes makes this crag a worthwhile visit. Boulderers: have fun trying routes that need zero endurance.

A very shady sector, nice walk through a canyon and proximity to the Waterfall wall (1 minute away, full of 5.10s) makes this a great summer spot for after work sessions for everyone.

Do not come here after it rains, however, as it seeps and stays wet for a while.

Getting There

Walk to the end of the canyon before it becomes hard to continue without getting your feet wet (about 25 minutes). It is the shady cliff on the right hand side
