DescriptionOverall faces WSW.
Just as we recognize the June Lake Loop as a little visit to Switzerland, so we feel the rock of Rush as a taste of the famous granite of Chamonix Mont Blanc in France . . .
"Lachenal" is for Pointes Lachenal (named after climber Louis Lachenal), SSE from the Aiguille du Midi and Refuge des Cosmiques overlooking the upper part of the giant Mer de Glace glacier. With several great fun multi-pitch granite routes.
. ("Lachenal" is pronounced in French something like lah-schnahl)
warning: The rock in this sector has not been climbed much yet, and much of the rock is still breakable and loose -- so the belayer and other people should stand far away from underneath the climber.
Getting ThereFollow the instructions on the Rush area description page to reach sector 7 Midi. Then turn Left and walk N about 100 feet (at first a ways uphill) to reach this sector. (8-16 minutes)
