DescriptionGranite walls about 15 seconds - 5 minutes from the parking area. Afternoon shade. Cooler temps when it is hot in the valley below. Right next to the North Tongue River. Nice easy access area with at least one really fun crack! If you need a quick stop, and you're passing through, check it out. Nice place to have lunch and a few pitches.
More routes can be found in Trevor Bowman's "Rock Climbs of the Eastern Bighorns" guidebook.
Getting ThereFrom Sheridan: Head up into the Bighorns on Hwy 14. At Burgess Junction, exit right onto Hwy 14A. About 1/4 mile after you exit, turn right on Hwy 15 (Freeze Out road). This will turn into dirt. Drive down about 1 mile, and turn right onto a narrow dirt road towards the Burgess Picnic Area. Walls start right at the end of the road near the turn around. First climbs are literally 15 seconds from this turn around.
