Description

  • * Initially submitted by Alex Weber **

Back Alley, which is located on our beloved Grey Mountain, has some excellent 5.10 sport climbs and some interesting 5.8s as well. This area can be horrendously buggy in the summer. It is a nice place to go later in the season when it's a bit colder and the bugs don't come out. Doesn't get much activity, so it's nice and quiet. The rock is nice limestone and the non-5.10 climbs are pretty slabby.

Getting There

Go up Grey Mountain road, and continue onto the unmaintained road. Park on the first pull-out on your left, which is the beginning of the mountain bike route Money Shot. Walk up Money Shot until you reach a fork in the trail: head left. Eventually you'll reach a nice vertical wall where your first route is the excellent 5.10d sport climb 'Sweet Hole'.
